Theme: Romanticism
But it is more toward "simple projects but big messages with in them".
I made several projects this semester and I learned numerous new techniques to use. i have made plates, lidded projects with a new kind of lid, tea pots, etc. Throwing those projects, I have also had the chance of learning new techniques. For example, the new kind of lid for the lidded project is a button lid, so in order for you to get that button knob, you have to make a hole all the way down to the bat and then act like you are making a planter and then bring that clay together. With the projects and how I glaze them, I found a theme that fits my art, Romanticism.

I am going to being showing three different projects. Each project represents a love for something or someone. The first project is a plate. This plate represents love and life. There is a quote on it that reads, "Live with no excuses & Love with no regrets". The quote means that you should never go a day second guessing your choices you have made in your love life and never have to go trying to cover up what's going on in your life. My second project is a vase that has a long neck and and a rose coming out of it. It also has a quote that says, "I will love you until the last rosé dies". This is a vase specifically from a man to the person he loves. The rosé on the vase is a rosé that will never die so his love is unstoppable and unchangeable. My last project is a bowl with bowl with a heart shaped handle in the middle of it. It represents how much someone's heart can hold.
For each of these projects I used similar techniques for the bases of these. But each of them has at least one different technique I used to get the shape. On my first project, the plate, I centered it like always but instead of making it tall, I made it flat so I can open and pull out instead of opening and pulling up. For my tall vase, I made it into a cylinder then made the bottom half into a vase shape and then choked the top to make the tall part of it. And finally for my bowl, that was the easiest project I just pulled up and then flared it out.
You may be wondering why I made the projects that I did. Well, for my plate, I didn't do much to it but make it and add a quote. Quotes speak to me in a way where I never want to forget them so I put them on things that I will keep forever. I made this plate to just be simple but have it let out a big message that life with excuses doesn't get you anywhere and that loving with regrets just makes it harder to be happy. For the vase, it is a little more complex than the plate but it also has a big message with it; and that's if there is true love between two people and they don't want to find someone else then, until that last rose dies, they will forever be together. (I go deep with things I enjoy talking about). And finally for my bowl with the heart handle coming out of it, I decided to make this to express how much one person's heart can hold. You have to visualize this project to the point where you see a heart with weights just being added to it and it not breaking down.

My theme is a theme where you do have to look at it differently and think about it deeply. Big and powerful messages can come out of art if you kno w
